Jan 4, 2019 | 10:26 AM

Melfort Fire and Rescue were called to a vehicle fire near Star City this morning, but fortunately the small fire was already out upon arrival.

Just before 8 a.m. a fuel tanker truck driver noticed a small glow coming from the left side of  his back trailer tire while travelling on Highway 3, about one kilometre west of Star City.

The driver stopped and was able to put out the fire with snow and a fire extinguisher.

Melfort Fire Chief Jason Everitt said no injuries were reported in the incident and highway traffic was able to flow as usual during the incident.
