Kris Kringle tea back this Sunday

For the 36th year, the Melfort Girl Guides are hosting their annual Kris Kringle tea this Sunday.

The tea is one of the major fundraisers for the group where the girls will serve tea and dainties to their guests.

Leader Karen Fedorychka said the proceeds from the event goes toward program expenses and Rangers and Pathfinders trip this year.

“In July of 2019, 13 girls and two leaders will travel to Europe to visit two Girl Guide centres,” Fedorychka said. “We are so excited to experience the history, arts and culture that this trip has to offer.”

On their trip, the girl guides will travel to the Swiss Alps and hike up a mountainside to a chalet and also stop in London, England where they will stay at the Historical Pax Lodge.

The tea is open to the public at the Kerry Vickar Centre from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“There’s also a bake sale, beautiful crafts made by the girls and a raffle table,” Fedorychka said.
